Our regional network is comprised of over 10,000 quality healthcare providers and over 60 hospitals. Additionally, our comprehensive national network provides peace of mind to our members wherever they may travel.
SummaCare is a part of Summa Health, an integrated delivery system. The integrated delivery system includes Summa Health System hospitals, its community-based health centers, dedicated clinicians and SummaCare. Summa Health has developed a forward-thinking, nationally recognized health-business model, allowing us to work together to deliver clinical excellence and exceptional customer service. The value of this model is carried across our entire regional provider network.
Company History
Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, SummaCare is one of the region’s only provider-owned health insurance companies. SummaCare was formed in the early 1990s as a product offering for large, self-funded employers in Akron. Since then, we have grown regionally to meet the needs of employers of all sizes and individuals including Medicare beneficiaries.
